Which UK Banks and Cards Work with CNICK Payment Rings

Your CNICK payment ring works anywhere in the UK that accepts contactless Visa or Mastercard. To activate payments, you link one supported card to the ring. This page explains which UK cards work directly and how to use any other UK bank card through Curve.

UK cards that link directly

These UK cards can be linked directly to your CNICK ring:

  • Revolut (Visa and Mastercard cards)
  • Klarna card
  • Curve card

Using HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds, NatWest, Monzo or another UK bank

Most UK high-street banks do not yet link directly to payment rings. You can still use them through Curve:

  1. Download the Curve app and create a free account.
  2. Add your existing UK Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card, or your UK PayPal account, to Curve.
  3. Open the CNICK app and connect your Curve card to your ring.

Every payment you make with the ring is then charged to the card you choose in Curve, and you can switch cards in the Curve app at any time.

Tip: if you have both a virtual and a physical Curve card, activate the physical card first and connect its details to the ring. Activating the physical card after linking the virtual one can stop activation codes from arriving. Read the full setup steps.

Crypto cards

You can also pay with crypto by linking a supported crypto card such as KAST or EtherFi. Payments then work anywhere contactless is accepted.

Good to know

  • One ring holds one card at a time. You can link the same card to several rings.
  • The ring never expires. When your card expires, connect the new one in the app.
  • Payments over £100 ask for the PIN of the linked card.
  • Your real card number is never stored on the ring; a secure token is used instead.
